Sarah Palin plans to resign as Governor of Alaska. She claims that because she isn't running for reelection, that her Governorship would be a lame duck tenure and, therefore, the "politics as usual" she has always campaigned against.
It would strike me that if one didn't want it to be politics as usual, that one wouldn't give in to the idea of a lame duck tenure and actually get off their butt and try to do something with the power they've been granted. The people of Alaska voted this person in as their leader, and she took an oath to serve them. Now, she's breaking that oath, and that's supposed to be OK? How does that work?
Why should we think of Palin as a legitimate candidate for President of the United States if she so easily throws in the towel as Governor of Alaska?
