Post Martez Williams Meets Real Gun Control
Minneapolis Star Tribune

A career criminal has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for possessing a gun.

Martez L. Williams, 42, was given a federal term Wednesday of 20 years and seven months for having a Colt .32-caliber revolver at a Minneapolis rooming house in October.

Williams' record includes convictions for rape, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery, burglary, aggravated criminal sexual assault, armed robbery, home invasion, failure to register as a sex offender, possession of cocaine and terroristic threats.

According to trial testimony in Minneapolis, police received a call that shots were fired at the rooming house in the 1800 block of Elliot Avenue S., where Williams lived in Minneapolis.

Officers on the scene heard two shots, saw Williams open the front door, look at the police and close the door.

They ordered Williams to drop his gun. He threw the weapon out the front door and was arrested.

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout. See ya at Social Security time, Martez

Social Security is based on earning a number of credits through years of lawful employment.

I'm not so sure that Martez is going to be collecting.
