I've been hearing recent radio ads for Smoke Assassin, one of many new electronic cigarettes on the market. The ads offer a free trial e-cigarette for the cost of shipping. According to these complaints, it sounds like a major bait and switch scam. It seems that these e-cigarette sellers are springing up like mushrooms on the Internet and at county fairs and flea markets, and they are all boiler room operations that will be gone as soon as the public demand fades away or the FDA shuts them down.
Interesting to note that the Smoke Assassin website lists ethylene glycol as 58% of the active ingredient in their smoke filters. It is the primary component of automotive anti-freeze.
