Post Tipping at Restaurant
If you enjoy your waiter's or waitress' service at a restaurant, it is a good idea to leave the tip in cash, NOT on your credit card. Every credit card transaction costs the vendor (restaurant in this case) a fee. If you leave a $20 tip on your credit card, some restaurant owners will NOT give the $20 to your waiter or waitress.

If you leave a tip at a Chinese restaurant, you definitely want to leave it in cash on the table. Don't add the tip amount on your card or pay at the front. A lot of Chinese restaurant owners will keep the tips if you don't put it in the hands of the waiters or waitresses. This may seem like a surprise, but I have been told by people who work at Chinese restaurant that it is a common practice.
