Post Spend or Save?
Last year, Americans spent more than they earned. The saving rate was -1%. That means we spent a lot of borrowed money.

Did you spend more than you earned last year?

YES. I had to change jobs when my job vanished. My budget, etc was perfectly in line with my existing income, but losing 53% of it threw me into a tailspin. Even cutting all luxuries out meant that we were adjusting other things to make sure everyone got paid.

I saved a lot more than -1% last year. 401K and some cash savings. Don't know the exact percentage, but certainly gets me prepared for some rainy days.

Nope! I'm a good little saver, with very little debt. Very Happy

Trying to improve my situation, but since my bills outweigh my income heavily right now (I don't even go near credit situations at this point), I guess I'm a spender.

My goal is to get more income, get debt-free and be a saver again, like I was about 7-8 years ago.
