Post Anna Nicole Smith Died ... or Murdered?
Anna Nicole Smith died today at 37. She married for money and died young. She was ridiculed by the media as a money-hungry-trailer-trash. She married a 90-year-old billionaire, so what? I won't be surprised a lot of women would kill to have her body and her fortune.

A real shame she died so young. She had some serious makeover and she looked a lot better lately than in her earlier days. Her former billionaire husband's son fought her very hard, trying to reclaim over $400 M his father left her. Her case even ended up in the Supreme Court. When there is that much money at stake, I won't be surprised if she was murdered.

Yes, it's possible she was murdered. Actually she lost most of the inheritance on appeal, tho. There were likely other legal actions in the works.

But from what I saw of her television show, and news stories about her behavior, she was a glutton for booze and drugs, and likely just destroyed herself. I was amazed to see her even able to walk when I saw the condition she was in on her television show. She was clearly a tortured soul, and I pity her. RIP.

Drug overdose or heart problems due to her lifestyle. I doubt they'd bother to murder her. Too good a chance that nature would do it for them.

What will be interesting will be to watch the many years of continuing legal action over her estate, which should be inherited by her 6 month old daughter who has no idea at all that any of this is going on.

I do feel sorry for her daughter.

I also find it amusing that the only folks who've been bringing this to my attention today have been men.

I don't understand the attention being given to this. Really. We are engaged in a war that has polarized our country and paralized our elected officials. A new report released today claims that autism is increasing. We have the largest imprisoned population of any country on this planet, and the news shows tonight (and probably for the next few days) headline this story? Sigh.....

Men are probably fascinated by it, and women embarassed by it. Because she may very well be the ultimate icon to bare naked greed that we may witness in our lifetimes, and personified how low people will stoop in order to make a buck. She did what she did, she got what she wanted, and didn't appear to give a red hot damn what anyone thought of her for it.

Post Anna Nicole's Mom Blames Drugs
http://www.startribune.com/484/story/991860.html

Smith's mom believes that drug use likely caused her death. It seems to be a very logical conclusion. The human body can only take so much abuse, and her public appearances showed somebody who was obviously putting a lot of unhealthy chemicals into hers. She probably died the same way many other strippers and porn artists do, but they don't get their names in the paper. Sometimes the victimization is sudden, and sometimes it takes a long time.

After the news about her death broke yesterday afternoon, all the cable news channels were doing the live coverage. Anna Nicole Smith lived by the media and died by the media. Now some people compare her to Marilyn Monroe, a blonde beauty who lived and died by the tabloid.

Quote:
"No question, she was beautiful," said Behar, of ABC's "The View." "We know people like to watch dysfunction. But beauty gives you something extra to look at. Dysfunction and beauty: Now that's something to watch."

How was she dysfunctional? Really, how wasn't she? Her strange life seemed to veer from one outsized struggle to another. She struggled famously with her weight and with her family. She sometimes even struggled to speak without slurring. She had a TV show that could be so embarrassing you'd want to watch it with dark sunglasses on. Much more tragically, she lost her 20-year-old son. Five months ago she had a baby daughter and now two men claim to be the father.

In other words, she was a perfect pop culture icon. By contrast, another famous creature of Internet celebrity, the chic-er, more sophisticated and chillier Paris Hilton, has much less to fascinate us, grainy sex video notwithstanding. It's hard to feel sorry for her. Why we care

AMEN!!!

Who cares???

I don't mean to be insensitive. Someone has died, and that's sad. But people die every day! Why all the attention and fanfare for Anna Nicole Smith? She didn't do anything particularly memorable or important in her life, that I can think of. Can we bring our attention away from the circus and back to reality, please?

Post Anna Nicole Smith
What is unfolding these days revolving the death of Anna Nicole Smith is like a real life black comedy. A parade of low lives have come forward to claim to be the biological father of Smith's baby. Smith's mother Vergie Arthur who never cared about her daughter or granddaughter wants to be the legal guardian of the baby.

We are seeing wall-to-wall coverage by the media. We are seeing more lawyers involved than the OJ Simpson's case. We are seeing all major news outlets are becoming tabloid media with every passing minute. Isn't this just lovely?

Actually the thing that I heard was, Anna Nicole (born Vickie Lynn Hogan) shoved her family far, far away once she fled from Texas to get discovered in Hollywood. Problem is I think she just got caught up in it all...and once she started to have a better life than those she left behind, they resented her for that.

I know (and agree) that everyone here has said this is not really important news, but the sad thing is regardless of the circumstances surrounding her death, and the fact that she was a very disturbed person who cared very little for herself, people close to her and who knew her well say that she was a good girl, and sweet, with a good heart, and certainly deserved a better life.
