The Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center, sponsored by the State of Minnesota, offers a list of rider instruction courses spanning a variety of skill and experience levels. The courses are affordable, fun and extremely valuable. They are offered at a number of locations statewide.
I've been riding a motorcycle for many years. The usual way of getting a motorcycle license has been to obtain a learner's permit and ride around for a few months on your own and hope you don't get killed. As a result, you develop your own habits that may be fundamentally unsound. Taking a course like this shows you the right way to do it, developed and taught by expert riders, and really helps avoid some of the most common errors that endanger motorcyclists. I took the Advanced Rider's Course, and frankly could have benefited from going back to square one and learning from the beginning.
An excellent course for anyone who is interested in motor cycle riding!
