Post Melissa Scott's Pitbull?

Careful, Unbelieveable.

I recently read on another site that Melissa Scott has Hollywood lawyer Patty Glaser on the payroll, and someone reported that Glaser came on stage during a service and threatened bloggers with legal action if they said negative things about Pastor Melissa Scott. If she's really hired Glaser, it's clear that she's ready to fire the big artillery at anyone who badmouths her.

I actually find it refreshing that she is far from perfect as I am far from perfect and have a far from perfect past myself. The point is that if you choose to believe in Jesus Christ and his teachings and you find someone who can help you understand the instructions he left us in which we now read in the Bible, then it is the message not the messenger that truly matters. It seems all these people want to spend their time and energy on bashing and condemning others. Maybe they should get a clue and either pick up a copy of the Bible and read it or like my mom used to say "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all."

You're right, Tbliz. And a lot of Christians could learn from your mom.

It always interests me when people call for a return to the teachings of the Bible, considering its constant use as a political weapon.

I have mixed feelings about this women. I get intrigued watching her....I've learned some... but i ALWAYS fall asleep the last few minutes. Her changing accents crack me up. And I do not hold her past against her. And although I do not know her true intentions....I would think that if she were in it for the money, then she woulda stuck with porn. Someone who is as beautiful as her, would probably make more money doing porn, than preaching God's word....

There's a lot of money to be had in preaching God's word. With that being said, there are easier ways to preach God's word and make money than what she has chosen. I'm not sold that she's in it for the money.

Post Beware The Stonewall

Prae-
I've found this story fascinating, and tried to research Melissa Scott. There's an extremely odd odor to the whole thing. I found, of course, the usual stuff about her porn past, involvement and marriage to Gene Scott, etc. But for the time that has elapsed since she took over the ministry? Nothing. Nada. Zippo.
That's extremely strange. It's quite obvious based on past reports that this ministry is taking in a lot of cash- maybe hundreds of millions per year. But you hear absolutely nothing about her- her lifestyle, personal life, financial dealings. Nothing. I can't believe, considering the armies of gossip mag writers and people working in such organizations, that NO ONE is talking about what is going on there in the here and now. Most high profile preachers welcome the opportunity to be interviewed and present themselves in a flattering light to a Larry King or an Oprah. From Scott- nothing. Not a single word said outside the scripted confines of her televised services.
I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories or invisible empires. But the blanket of silence around Scott is deafening, and more than a bit creepy. I can recall few instances of a high profile, wealthy public figure who appeared to have so much control over information and privacy around themselves. The fact that she's apparently gotten herself a pitbull lawyer is a pretty big hint. How many preachers need one of those?

I think that her lawyers must be keeping things under pretty good wraps for her. I was up late last night and seen she was on tv...so i tuned in and got a kick out of her ever-changing accent. I seen someone say, in a previous post, that she sings well. That must come at the end of her sermons when I'm sleeping, because I have never seen that part. The beginnings fade in on a service that has already started. She seems so educated...and my lack of formal education opens opportunity for her to mislead me, so I'm naturally leary. I'm not a dummy, but the way she dwells on the Greek and lexicons totally loses me.

Post Pastor Melissa Scott NonDenies Porno Past

http://www.marieclaire.com/world-reports/news/latest/melissa-scott-porn-pastor

In an exclusive interview with MarieClaire magazine, Pastor Melissa Scott denies making porno movies, but not much else. She's apparently not living in the Gene Scott mansion, which is up for sale for $17 million.

Pastors and followers of Christ are deceiving many and living way beyond biblical standards. That is the biggest issue in Scott's ministry. Jesus never taught on how to be rich or recommended that anyone Pastor have millions of dollars for themselves..Quite the contrary. To lose your life in all world. You can not serve two masters!! He road in on a mule not a Rolls Royce. And said that the rich would have their reward on earth and not in heaven. Riches in heaven were the focus of the teachings of Christ. These ministries like Copeland are a complete scam. and perhaps Mellisa Scott's ministry teaches solid doctrine but you can not overlook her lifestyle. I am sorry to say but it is a red flag. I will continue to watch and see if she comes correct.

God wants two things

1)for all to come to the Knowledge of the truth. And be saved

2)God must be worshiped in Spirit and truth.John 4:24

It is impossible to please God in the flesh. Just read some of these rants.. That's why there are scriptures over and over and over about "willingness" being accounted as faith, About Gods immeasurable grace. Repentance. It all leads to Jesus.

Want the truth and God will reveal it. Be careful Satan comes as an angel of light, a ravenous wolf seeking to destroy..Isa 54:17 This is our heritage. May the Lord shine His countenance on all true ministries of Gods truth..

. God is merciful God is just. Get under the Blood. Get life insurance.(Jesus Christ)Retain the one and only advocate and attorney that gives amnesty. We are purchased by the blood. No longer owners of our lives.A life of servant hood to our Savior and King.

with Love. (it endures all things)

A walking testimony to Gods grace.

I also enjoy that Mark's - oh, sorry, I mean "Walking Testimony"...can I just call you WT? - original post has been edited 39 times and still we can't get even a single space after a period.

And because it's Friday and I can't resist...Hey, WT, why don't you come over here and blow my kazoo? Wink

Thank you nonmnice. I knew you would refer to the exorbitant amount of edits on my post.
Maybe that was the intent of this author. You have brought attention to a great point.
God prunes away each branch that does not bear fruit and replaces it with ones that do. We as Christians are commanded to have an attitude of self examination. A man willing in humility to be corrected will not suffer the song of fools.(Ecclesiastes 7:5) It is better to go to a funeral than a feast. It is better to be a living dog than a dead lion Ecc 9:4

The heart is wicked Jer17:9. We must constantly revise our thinking to be in line with the will of God. You make an astute observation. I made 39 edits and I still have errors in my post.Though they are grammatical they are errors. As long As we breath we must have an attitude open to correction a willingness to learn from the Holy Spirit of God. I believe this website has an "Edit" application for a reason. It is too bad more do not take advantage of Gods grace. That's what I get when I pray for God to set a guard over my lips.Be careful what you pray for.
Praise God!

The wisdom that not which comes from above is earthly sensual and demonic.James 3:15 Though I was willing and my intentions were good. Some of what I posted was improperly translated and may have led viewers to get the wrong impression. It is not uncommon !:Cor 10:13They should rename the edit key."a way of escape" When we walk in the spirit. It is impossible not to look at ourselves and be willing to let God do what ever it takes to be in line with His will. God giveu us the humility and capacity to improve. God is the greatest editor if we are willing to lose our lives. Jesus Christ is the same as yesterday today and tomorrow. So thank you for alluding to the obvious nomnice. We are judged by every word that preceedeth from our mouths. You can bet your bottom dollar I will consider what I write down carefully.Your not the first person I have met that seems to like stepping on grenades. God is glorified in pretense and truth.

I'm not sure what most of that post was about, but I want to respond to this part. This is what really bothers me about most patriarchal, organized religion--the demonizing of earthiness, of sensuality, of things typically attributed a feminine aspect. I'm open to the idea of God, but I've never felt close to It in a church or in my Catholic school. The times I have felt closest to the great mystery, the uniting energy, the gift-giving spirit have been times I was in my garden, watching the earth produce food and nourishment for me. If the earth and sensuality are demonic, why in the world did God create the planet Earth and make it the vessel for our very survival, not to mention great pleasure? There is an undeniable feminine, nurturing energy and aspect to whatever it is that gives us life and sustains it. I hate organized religion's fear and muzzling of it.

You can't sit on the fence and watch this like a football game. It is not a spectator sport. God truly loves you so much. A measure of faith is all that is required. It has been given to you and me. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God being justified freely by His grace that is Jesus Christ. Rom 3:23-24 His grace is our redemption. And soon he will come to judge the living and the dead. Be sealed with the Holy Spirit. Or be marked for treason. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son so that none should perish and all have everlasting life. John 3:16 Its an oldie but a goody. Hey buddy religion is man made dogma Romanism legalism perfectionism. We are saved by faith Eph 2:8. By grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourself. Not by works lest anyone should boast. Gods word can not be added to or taken away from. I pray you receive Gods greatest gift (Jesus Christ) and hold fast to it.

May God Bless you all.

Since you're crazy, I don't give this blessing much merit, but this is where religious people lose me.

Why is it your business, WT?

Why is my relationship with God, or lack thereof, any of your business? Is it a pyramid scheme? Do you get a cut of the proceeds if you convince me to come along on your crazy ride?

Or, is it, perhaps, that you're so insecure in your own faith, that the only way to truly "believe" is for you to spout off about it to everyone else. As if you can't be faithful unless you know that others are faithful as well.

Or, to put it another way, religion is just one big peer pressure experiment, similar to TPing a teacher's house in junior high.

If your faith was so strong, you wouldn't have to talk about it so much.

What I would really like to know here is how a small group of people's unease with a pastor's history has turned in to all of us needing to be saved. Can't I believe in God AND not trust this particular pastor?

I am commanded by God to share the greatest gift man will ever receive. It is the great commission. If you say i am crazy you are just calling Gods word a lie. I am only speaking Gods word. I hope that the Spirit of God will touch you and reveal the truth. That is all. Do not think for one second that good people go to heaven. Jesus is the only way my friends. Nuff said thanks for the opportunity to share.

You do not have to trust Mellisa Scott. I can tell you from word of God and experience trusting God is necessary. First you have to have a relationship with God. Jesus says my yoke is light and my burden is easy. For the other gentleman who compares religion to tee peeing a house I couldn't say I blame you. Religion is man made. Perfectionism, legalism, Roman ism, Mind control and usually requires an act or deed for approval.

Christianity is the believe that God sent Jesus Christ as payment in full for depraved state. (Sin). That takes the gift of faith. There is no more work or deeds required. You can not add to the work that has been done on the cross. First step is to ask God what the truth is. Knock and it shall be opened. I am not selling anything. There's no Pyramid scam. God knows who will be saved. Predestined before the foundations of time. Just ask God to show you the truth about Jesus. He will answer. We seek the truth and that can only be what is written in Gods word. Nothing more nothing less.

Catholicism is one of many cults. Hey, people are fallible. Do not lean on them. Pastors and religious leaders are going to make mistakes. Many are deceived and leading folks astray. I hope for you. I am undecided about Pastor Scott. There is a good fit for everyone. Many choices. I have had trouble finding a home base. Because I feel people in churches can be brutal. But if we focus on the good things and see the great things God has done and is doing If we stay in the word and pray a lot we change little by little into something you were not before Through faith. We become more and more the likeness of Christ. We fall short of course. When we fall we get up and dust ourselves off. Enduring and persevering, I have seen miraculous things from God. And real smart stupid people. By reading some of these more I would not blame you if you were more comfortable at a Hatfield and McCoy reunion. Men being fools arguing over the word of God.The Holy Spirit is given to lead you to the truth. It is impossible to understand any of it without Gods helper.

Post THE SECOND DEATH

REVELATION 21:14 & 15

14. Then death and Hades was thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Jesus is the only name ever given for the remission of sins and by which we can be saved. All this talk about pastors is a waste of time. No man made religion makes this heavenly offer. To be accepted by the creator of the universe for merely calling on the name of His only begotten Son. This is as easy as pie for anyone. It only requires some humility and a drop of faith. Every religion is false. Religion is man's effort to make himself acceptable to God. True religion is this: Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

If anyone asks Jesus to come into their life they are permanently guaranteed to receive eternal life. That is because no one can do so except by the Holy Spirit. Try it and see. Pride will cause those who are not humble to refuse to do so. For those how are brave enough to seek God through Jesus Christ He will not let a single one slip through His hand. He is faithful to do what he said, because God can not be made into a Liar.

He will accept you as you are. You don't need to change a thing. He will change your heart. Then you will change your behavior because you will want to. He is gentle, patient and forgiving moment by moment. He only desires your honesty with Him. He will richly bless that attitude. He is bigger than any problem or addiction. You are already acceptable to him. Just ask and you will receive. When you receive you will know that this word is true.

Post Is Mellissa Scott a fraud?

Well folks. First off much of what is posted in reference to Pastor Scotts validity is screened by her investigators and removed off of the internet. I have a source that is very close to her and she is reported to pay a team to go out non stop and clean anything said about her in a negative or a controversial light. Wow! it say's in the Bible that you will be persecuted for your faith But I fail to finds the place where it say's to silence the masses by force.

Out of the few I fellowship with that are qualified to ascertain the merit of Mellisa Scott's seemingly endless and ambiguous sermons, I have been leaning towards the Paul or Mary Magdalene theory. The wretch made whole by the Spirit of God. By salvation grace and mercy.. It may be so but not as a Pastor.

She has way to much to hide. Many secrets. Very shady. Certainly running a non biblical congregation. I wouldn't be surprised if she had retina scans at the door of her so called Church. How ever I do know for certain that she does background checks on all her members.

Her knowledge of the word is impressive considering she has no education. She is quite good at preparing sermons, writing her translations out and skirting the initial theme or message like a politician. Sailing on a sea of tangents. Like a product that claims to be whole wheat. But when the ingerients are discovered there are many fillers. BLa Bla Bla Bla for the greatest portion a translation or two, Lots of Greek and Hebrew strewn about like an Indiana Jones movie. The stage is set. I believe she believes she can pull it off.

Finally, in the last few minutes Mellissa comes to a point that could of been made in the time she takes to sing the songs at the end of her show... I mean er sermon. No prayer? No supplication? just Rapunzel and her pointer stick and a great example of how deceitful one can be with the right tools. Four professors I have talked with including a well respected scholar of the Dallas seminary school give her the thumbs down. I certainly hope for Her and pray for her. This is all taking a back seat to a plethora of red flags due to her unwillingness to be transparent. We all are guilty of this. But not everyone is a Pastor.

Much of this seems to be motivated by self gratification. I lean towards the shill game aspect more than the Christ's ministry theory. but I am sure it is a bit of both. You have to consider the obvious. She was heinous enough to crash Gene Scott's marriage from the lap dance section of his so called Church, and proffer every last bit of His empire (Not church) into the dynasty of Mellisa Scott. I just do not see evidence of the Holy spirit here. Be careful of wolves in sheep's clothing. God can work a miracle here. Forgive me if I appear to be judgmental. I am not doing this out of hate.. I know God will be glorified in pretense and truth. Some people are so blind. And then again you just have to go down to the local carnival to see first hand. Pray for the Churches out there suffering from deception. God loves the Church, His bridegroom. Lord have mercy on us.

I Have been a KHOF sense 89’ and am of the opinion that Dr. Gene Scott set the record straight on many religious issues. He restored a healthy respect for Christian leadership as well as returning a failing church to faith. He ran the government straight out of the churchs liturgical activity and preached the gospel uncompromised to the whole world He restored worship to its rightful place and brought communion as a table of grace not guilt into the homes of many. I have no doubt in my mind that he was Gods man for this hour . To the best of my knowledge Melissa Scott was entrusted with keeping his voice going . What happened??? Her own words were “if anyone else had takin over they would have increased and he (Dr. Scott would have decreased) [I paraphrase but that’s the just of it.] Since then she has moved to the forefront and accept for a few hand picked messages he is virtually gone from the internet and shortwave, this is suspicious. Also, she’s cleaned his act up (so to speak) of the handpicked messages that you do get of Dr.Scott, none depict the controversial Domata at his best. He used to say send me all the sinners in town you don’t have to change to come to Christ, act in faith and God does the changing for ya . Now it reeks of second generation imitation despite the lip service she gives grace. Dr. Scott railed against the self-rightous and hypocritical church at large and clearly aligned himself against it. That line has been blurred. Dr. Scott once lamented that true teachers of Gods word were treated as outcasts until they died then those that in life were against them would come in and saint them, steal their messages and stamp their own watered down image on it leaving it seventy ways from Sunday (that’s the just of it) and it makes me sick! Am I not seeing that with my own eyes? Heres the clincher , She does an interview and the question is asked are you barbi bridges, did you ever do porn ? Her answer is, “ No. If I start defending that then what else do I have to defend?” Huh? That infers shes lying…. Reeks of a compromised man pleaser. Dr. Scott never backed down from controversy in fact he invited it “Its none of your business what motel I visit” he would say, but lie ? no way … Dr. Scott was live on the festival of faith, as for her? Not to my knowledge, everything seems rehearsed or way old reruns nothing current also Dr.Scott spoke to issues of the day you always knew right where he stood on issues from the War in the Gulf to televangelists and their ridiculous hypocracy and everything in between. Mellissa Scott claims to herald a reformation , Dr Scott Was the best representative of Christ sense the apostle Paul He was Gods man for this hour the proof was in the teaching and that’s virtually gone now thanks to her… In this age of technology his voice could still be beaming round the world 24/7, any and all used to be able to find his life giving words/messages of Christ but its not any more. As Dr. Scott used to say “stop at the common sense gestalt” somthins wrong here!! I still tithe to the ministry out of loyalty to God but I don’t know how much longer I can hold out. I have supported Mellissa Scott for the last 5 years in good faith that she was acting on unction. In June of this year 09' I sent a letter to her voicing my dissent but then recanted and sent a letter of apology as well as prayer request outlining my own trials and tribulations in an attempt to strike a solid connection with the current ministry and an end to my despair but these efforts and time have not reconsiled my growing conviction that what is happening in this ministry is wrong. I am currently and prayerfully considering supporting Leslie Hale because he is the only pastor that i know of that came out and openly supported Dr. Gene Scott (when he was alive and when it counted) in his efforts for Jesus sake. I fear that SATEN COULDN’T STOP Dr. Scotts voice from goin out to the world so he found a way to compromise it by watering him down through a deluded apostate whom has rationalized herself blind so as to justify her own greed and pride through self appointed apostleship thus, exploiting and destroying all that Dr. Scott sought to preserve. End result “Teaching to the expense of the life of the spirit” and a return to "traditions that make void the word of God

Post My Suggestions to Christians about Melissa Scott

I am glad to know I am not alone in this discovery of who Melissa Scott is. There are many of you who have made, in my opinion, fantastic factual arguments of common sense. Despite some of these points being made by non-Christians, we Christians should remember Jesus’ parable of the “Shrewd Master.” There are often times that we as Christians get caught up in defending our religion with emotion rather than logic. God gave us brains for a reason – and we should use them. Common-sense advice, even by non-Christians, should be heeded. Sometimes they are smarter and wiser than we are. And it is for this reminder that I decided to create an account and blog about this Melissa Scott character.

I discovered Melissa late last night since I seldom ever get to stay up late. With Thanksgiving here and a day off of work, I decided to flip through the channels. When I landed on Melissa, I thought, “Wow! What a smart, smart lady! This is just the kind of Christian food I’ve been looking for!” I have a personal fascination with language anyway; I own an Amplified Bible and a Jewish Bible just to eke out every meaning I can out of what the original writers were trying to get across. I’m a cheapskate too, because I don’t have the time or money to take Aramaic, Hebrew, or Greek classes. Hence, when I came across Melissa, I thought I hit the jackpot.

But, like many bloggers here, I wanted to find out more information about her before doing any investing (DVD’s, books, etc.), and so I ran a search on her. My first instinct was to go to Wikipedia and search for information there. I trust that people will govern themselves better than any governmental regulations, but that’s an entirely different topic. But when I didn’t get any hits other than to her late husband, I thought how odd that is. So I got “some” information that I wanted from his page, but not nearly what I had hoped.

The next stop was her actual website and looked at the “Who Is Pastor Scott?” link. And what do you get? Two sentences…? No list of credentials, no FAQ, no links to interviews or fansites, no personal testimony, nothing of real substance. And here I was thinking that this would be a quick search of information before I started buying her DVD’s to learn more about the deeper meanings in the Bible using the actual language.

So my next steps were to search popular Christian websites for any inkling of who this Melissa lady is. And again, I come up empty.

Why?

Consider that other well-known Christians have extensive information about themselves on their own websites. Billy Graham, Dave Ramsey, Joyce Meyer… Some even include access to their bank records! How thankful I was that our Christian leaders were far more transparent than our own government – and accessed the information in a matter of a minute!

I started hearing sirens in my head about this Melissa Scott. And so I Googled her. And I, through about an hour of open-minded reading, figured it out. Not with emotion, but with logic. Much of this reading came from blogs and message boards of both critics and fans, articles from Batesline and MarieClaire, and just reading the headings of some of the website links mentioning her name.

<Insert an emotionally-charged Christian prejudgment who reads no further>

--> So, I must be a judgmental Christian because I disapprove of a former porn star!!? Yes, I must be, because as other Christians in the same token, we completely despise Saul of Tarsus for being an executor of Christians.

How utterly ridiculous.

This is the emotional response I’m reading of some of my fellow brothers and sisters who mean well, but don’t take the time to think of future ramifications of this lady. This is why I so appreciate the comments made by “blursd” but yet our fellow brothers and sisters are completely missing his incredibly well-made arguments.

As one reader said it best – paraphrased, “I would be completely ok with her saying that she used to be a porn star, but now she’s reborn and has put that life behind her.” I completely, wholeheartedly agree. But yet we have documentation of her trying to do her very best to COVER UP this type of information getting exposed to the public. Why else would I not find any of this information on Wikipedia? Or, for goodness sakes, her OWN WEBSITE? Even Dave Ramsey opens up and tells of his own mistakes he’s learned from on his page.

So, what do we as Christians do with this? Simple. We as Christians need to understand our role on earth.

Jesus reveals His purpose to us through Pontius Pilate. We read, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Just the very fact that this message board exists proves that people CARE about TRUTH. As a Christian, I strongly believe in following Christ’s example in TESTIFYING TO TRUTH to all people! But in this specific case of Melissa, we have a problem we must face, and hence why we are divided.

The argument summaries of these bloggers come down to two basic premises:
1. On what merit does Melissa Scott have on teaching the Word of God to others in this way?
2. Does it really matter?

Point #1: In the times of Christ, Yeshua (Jesus) chose 12 ordinary people who were not scholars of any sort to preach the Good News to the people. We have seen through their example (well, ok, 11 out of the 12…) that they were very, very successful in conveying that message to just about anyone. You can tell in their letters and testimonies that they told the good with the bad, didn’t hold back, and had the purest of intentions to help others understand Jesus’ TRUTH.

Can a former porn star do the same? Sure, why not. Have you ever heard of the triple-x church? They’re amazing in my opinion. They truly reach out to people who really need to hear God’s message of love, hope, and forgiveness. What merit does this group have to reach out to these people? They love God with all of who they are, and love their neighbor as themselves. If Melissa Scott does the same with her congregation, is that not merit enough?

Point #2: Is it possible that Melissa rehearses her sermons ahead of time and has scholarly errors? Sure. How would I know she has these errors either – I’m no language expert. But again, if she is truly doing her best with her undocumented education (high school diploma or self-learned doctorate) and reaching out to the best of her abilities to a flock needing God’s word, does it matter what her merit is?

And again, I come back to the Parable of the Shrewd Master. Even with doing devious things, the master COMMENDED the manager for making friends in a time of crisis! However, this does come with a warning.

I believe this is the truth we are looking for. But we’ll never know what Melissa Scott’s true intentions are – if she is truly doing devious things as a “hypokrinomai,” or following God’s principles as a pastor of a flock, albeit fumbling here and there.

It is this TRUTH that Melissa Scott should read well.

Gamaliel gives great advice to the religious leaders that if Jesus’ disciples were doing the work of God, they would not be stopped regardless of any criticism or punishments. But if they were truly false teachers, the followers would disband when the leader disappeared. I’m honestly not sure what kind of church fallout occurred when Melissa’s late husband passed away, or if they lost many members over the whole ordeal. I’ve read of the interesting bulletins handed out when she took over and her reactions to them… But what if Melissa decided to quit? Would her congregation stop following her teachings about God?

And to the truly skeptical, Jeremiah (just one example) gives shrewd warnings of punishments to false prophets. Although I am not against Christians gaining massive quantities of wealth (after all, if I was, I might as well throw out the book of Job, and criticize Abraham and Jacob, etc. for being so rich), their motives for gaining wealth should be the real purpose of criticism.

Is Melissa Scott using God as a way to bilk money from an unsuspecting congregation for personal gain?

If she truly is, I pray that Jesus personally tosses her money-changing buttocks out of His Holy Temple, and that she learns from it and changes her ways. I then pray that God takes her buried backyard money and gives it to the one with 20 talents.

I look forward to hearing her open up about her past in an honest fashion, repenting of her sin and using it as a successful story of forgiveness and mercy to inspire others to do the same. We all enjoy TRUTH, and it should be heard in the same manner as Paul states when he explains why he is the chief of sinners. In the meantime, I will stay clear of her like I do with the likes of CCN, Benny Hinn, and Jack Van Impe.

Post One more thing...

I do find it odd that Melissa Scott requires background checks or whatnot before you're allowed into the church. I thought that the Gospel was a free gift to all, and that it shouldn't be shrouded under a basket? Isn't that what she's essentially doing?

Post Bothered by todays message from Pastor Melissa Scott

I am a relatively new listener of Pastor Scott's, and while I will say, initially I was totally entranced and delighted, today I am mortified. Not because I have learned of her background, but because of her total lack of being spirit led in her "on line service" she provided a link for today. She spent the entire first half hour talking about money and how anyone who listens OWES her money. I was appalled, both by her approach, her comments, and the words she used. She literally said "find the pot or move" (poop or get off the pot is essentially what she meant). She literally told people "either pay me for my teaching or leave".

How dare she invite me to listen to her teachings and then berate me for not paying! She didn't even give me a chance to!!! And the really sad part is, I sold everything I had a few months ago just to make it this far, and am now living in the room over a garage out of boxes at a friends who was kind enough to take me in. I sold all my mom's gold jewelry that I inherited just to eat and this poor excuse for a Pastor has the nerve to tell me I have to PAY HER?

She inherited millions from her late hubby, whom was FORTY years her senior. No big secret what that was about. This woman is after money and no one is going to convince me otherwise! STAY AWAY!!!

Post True Colors

I wanted to add to my previous post....I only learned of Melissa Scott 1.5 yrs ago when I caught her late night programs and watched a few...then I moved out of NJ to SC and she wasn't on TV here so I forgot about her until last week I saw her advertisement on a link to Tangle.com. So, I clicked on it and watched her 3 part teaching which was advertised as free. Then I received a link to listen in for free to her televised Sunday service (via internet).

How dissappointing. I too had thought I found what I've been searching for, finally, someone who was digging deep into God's word....I hung on her every word and was prepared to purchase a bunch of her teachings once I get back on my feet.

As far as I'm concerned, God revealed her true colors today and saved me from wasting my money. If she is going to demand to be paid for her teaching, then she has no business Pastoring a church. A Pastor is one who is supposed to rely on God for their income, not verbally whiplash their congregation for not giving more. How ungrateful and arrogant of her. Plainly, in my eyes, she's nothing more than a thief.

Background checks on the flock.....ever try doing a background check on the PASTOR? Let me know if you find ANYTHING about her.

On the now-deleted Wikipedia article about her, and one other place I forget where, it said she became a U.S. citizen sometime in the past few years, but it doesn't say where she lived before that. She's got to be the only Pastor in history that nobody knows anything about, and her flock doesn't seem to be the least bit curious. As far as they're concerned, she fell out of the sky in 1995 and landed smack dab in Gene Scott's lap. With pasties and a g-string.

Who cares if she was a porn actress? That was only a small part of her life. What about the REST of the story? What did she do for 30 years, and in what foreign country? Is she even using her real name? False identities have been used before to get official U.S. documents, all it takes is enough money and the right connections.

Half the people on this discussion are arguing about whether or not she's a good Bible teacher, and completely ignoring the FACT that nobody knows who the @%$ she is or where she came from. Having said that, yeah she's most likely a sincere minister of God's Good Word.

If you believe that, I'd like to talk to you about buying some Nevada swampland I picked up cheap, there's just TONS of oil under it.

From what I’ve observed she has exhalent command of the language she uses.

Who could argue about Pastor Scott's language after this exhalent endorsement?/quote]

I must agree. I've noticed that she tends to exhale when commanding a language.

Post Pastor Scott

I too was up late and starting watching her and was somewhat drawn in. I don't know her background, but I think maybe she should teach Greek or Latin or something, but not the gospel.

I was drawn into Paula White as well. It just goes to show you not everyone should be in ministry. And those who do, will be held more responsible. Religion has become BIG BUSINESS.

This wicked society is messes up enough, it doesn't need anymore CONFUSION!

Pastor Scott scares me and I am very disappointed in TBN.

It seems to me that men of good conscience should revel in the truth. The truth is that neither preachers nor politicians can be trusted. In particular those who pollute the airwaves and those who reach the pinnacles of politics. The very fact that it can take hundreds of millions to run a campaign should tell us all we need to know. Then of course, how can you trust someone you don't know?

What I do know is this, Melissa Scott and Sarah Palin are freaking gorgeous and I would go to church and vote Republican forever if I could but bone them both. Preferably a hot lesbo tainted 3 way. In their cases I don't need my ears to hear "their" truths, my eyes & aching balls tell me all I need to know. I could care less if lovely Melissa can really speak Hebrew as long as she can say yes to Greek. As for Sarah, who cares if the reads a newspaper as long as she understands and doesn't have enough sense to have an opinion when she's demanded to go "bare back baby". Sad to say that if this is where we've arrive in politics and religion, God help us. But, if I could but penetrate the twin lips of church and state only once, I would at least die a happy heathen.
