Just got this CD yesterday on Dorajar's recommendation. She's crazy as a bed bug (Amy, not Dora...), but the gal can sing. In a weird hybrid of blues, pop, 60's Motown and big band she writes songs about getting drunk, going off her meds, not going to rehab when she most definitely should... and uses the phrase "what kind of fuckery is this?" in a song. How can you not love her?

Also new on my shelf: a double disk of the best of Marvin Gaye, Macy Gray BIG, and Brandi Carlile The Story. All extremely addictive, musically unique and highly recommended.

I don't know what it is. The more people shake their heads and tsk tsk when I espouse my love for Ms. Winehouse, the more I love her.

I've got a soft spot for shameless bad girls. Up to a point. Amy seems to know exactly where that point is and swings around it like a pole dancer.

Aw c'mon, really?! Can I say "What kind of f*&kery is this?"

I also love Ms. Winehouse, not only for her music, but her amazing sense of style. The girl really knows how to put together a look.
