After many years of hacking around and slapping things together, I have come to appreciate the patience, skill and knowledge of good carpenters and wood crafters. My projects have always been awkward and not-just-quite-right. I have learned that successful remodelers and wood projects are a combination of using the right tools, the right materials, and a few professional tricks. It's fascinating how the hobby/trade consistently combines modern technology and materials with techniques and principles centuries old.
A friend turned me on to this store. Our local branch is located at 3025 Lyndale Ave S, a block south of Lake Street. It's a really amazing assortment of first class hobby and trade tools and gadgets, a little wood and stain selection, and knowledgeable pros who would love to stand around yakking about woodworking all day.
I will be back. A lot, I'm afraid.
