Alicia Keys wears an AK47 charm around her neck and believes that Gangsta Rap and feuds between rap artist cliques are government conspiracies to get black people to kill each other and wipe out black activists.

*twitch twitch*

How do I even begin on this one? Oh, how about right here?

Quote:

Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."

By this theory the government could have let Six Pack and F.A.T. live because there would STILL be no great black leader from either of these two. Losers, the both of them, at best.

Quote:

Though she's known for her romantic tunes, she told Blender that she wants to write more political songs. If black leaders such as the late Black Panther Huey Newton "had the outlets our musicians have today, it'd be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself," she said.

No. It wouldn't. Do you know why? Because the racial tension we enjoy here in the United States doesn't exist globally. Unless of course she's talking about creating tension where there is none. That would be a truly awesome plan.

Want to make a positive difference in the "black community?" Destroy the black community as it stands. Not the people. Just what the people now believe in. Which seems to be a gimme gimme gimme persecution complex rather than something that gears people up to bettering themselves.

When I hear this kind of racial hatred from someone like Keys, who is biracial, can't help but wonder what she's trying to say to her white mother, who says she didn't know her daughter wore the AK47 "kill 'em dead" jewelry. In her bio notes, Keys says she has no problem or conflict with her mixed heritage. I would say her racial conspiracy theories loudly contradict that. Don't think it takes Sherlock Holmes or John Shaft to figure out that "Em" are white people, considering one of her theories is based on objection to encouraging killings between black people.

Keys didn't grow up on the mean streets. She attended the prestigious "Fame" high school (Professional Performing Arts high school in Manhattan) and performed as a child actress on television shows. She enjoyed great success at an early age and is an acclaimed performer and multimillionaire. I guess only someone who knows her personally can explain the obvious volcano of anger that boils in her.

Singer Alicia Keys says her remarks in a magazine article were misinterpreted.

Ok...

usually, "misinterpreted" means "I didn't think you were going to quote me word for word on that."
