Not a big fan of musicals, but allowed myself to be dragged to this production of Jersey Boys at the Orpheum.
What a fabulous show. Guess I never was a huge Four Seasons buff, but maybe that was because their music was so popular and everpresent in my youth that it seemed like background music and I never paid attention to who was singing it. This production combines some very interesting storytelling about the individuals in the group, the evolving characters and music, the personal lives of the performers, and their odessy from the streets of New Jersey to today. The characters are strong and believeable, and the music performance is uncannily like the original group.
Well worth attending, if you can catch them while they're still in town.
