Brett Favre has agreed not to report to the Green Bay Packers summer training camp, and will give Packers GM Thompson some time to work out a deal that will allow Favre to continue playing football with another team. Thompson does not want to outright release Favre, which would allow him to sign with another team within the NFC North Division. A trade would ensure that Favre would not play for a local competitor, assuming that the new team would not risk serious and long lasting bad blood with the Packers by trading him back to either the Bears or Vikings.
