I'm moving this month and daydreaming about furnishing my new place.

What's your favorite piece of furniture? Where did it come from?

I have a big, eggplant-colored chair that was a gift from my parents years ago. The wonderful offerer of comfort that it is, when I lived with my parents I more often than sitting in it simply let piles of clothing grow on it. Now I put it in my living room and my roommate loves the thing (as do I), so luckily the chair is finally being appreciated. I really do not have very much furniture other than that.

A good rocking easy chair- not the wooden type, but one that rocks on a frame.

Another one I will get someday- a sling style hanging chair, like a hammock only a chair mounted on ropes. I sat in one at a shop in California- it was great. Only problem is finding someplace solid enough to hang it from.
