New York Times columnist David Brooks was in town recently, and I'm sorry I didn't go to see him. He's one of the fairest and most lucid of the talking and writing heads around. From what I saw during election coverage, he wasn't leading cheers for anybody, and gave both spankings and kudos when they were due to anyone.
