Post Archie Manning Won't Lose Head Over Sons' Success
INDIANAPOLIS -- When Colts QB Peyton Manning takes the field for Super Bowl XLIV in two weeks against his dad's former team, it will mark the third time in four years that a Manning has started in the big game. Peyton led the Colts past the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI, while younger brother Eli Manning helped engineer a historic upset of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

Archie Manning's progeny has brought quite a bit of glory to football's version of a royal family, even though Archie was never able to march the New Orleans Saints to the big game, though they finally got there, too, on Sunday night.

Washington Post columnist Mike Wise playfully asked Peyton Manning after Indianapolis' win over the Jets if there was any truth to the rumor that Archie would be cryogenically frozen in an effort to produce future Super Bowl stars.

"I heard that story a couple years ago," grinned Peyton. He then drew laughs by adding, "I think he's done (reproducing)."
