Rampant, commonplace academic cheating by college students, often using technologies of cell phones, web photos, texting and other means, is becoming so frequent that universities barely exert any disciplinary action on those who are caught. Colleges are considering offering incentives to professors to turn in violators, as most are not bothering to do so and little is done in terms of sanctions against dishonest students.
Some observers worry that the normalization of such behavior bodes poorly for the ethical mooring of upcoming leadership. When things have reached the point where failing to cheat or take exams by group effort will place a student at a grading disadvantage, something's gone terribly wrong. Time to let someone other than the nuts run the asylum.
