St. Paul Police recovered 157 antique stained glass windows they believe were stolen by three Minneapolis men in broad daylight posing as workers. The windows, many with extremely high resale values to antique dealers and restorers, are believed to have been stolen in various parts of the Metro area and are torn right out of their frames on the walls. Minneapolis has had a number of such burglaries in recent months, and police are referring the victims to view the recovered property in St. Paul and identify their lost articles.
The brazenness of these guys is unbelievable. Stealing from your house isn't enough. Now they want the house too. A new twist is emerging as well, where crooks are stealing the downspouts and gutters off people's homes, and actually breaking in and stealing the plumbing pipes from basements- while the people are home. They obviously know that local judges will do little or nothing to punish them.
