Last week the finace and I drove up the North Shore for a little respite. We stayed at the Cove Point Lodge in Beaver Bay MN, about a four hour drive from Minneapolis. This a great getaway. All the rooms look over the lake. Thers a rolling lawn scattered with adirondack chairs, free canoes for the lodgers and the restaurant is excellent. The breakfast includes fresh herring, tomatoes and cucumbers, so very Nordic. The Superior Hiking trail, Split Rock Lighthouse and endless miles of bike paths are all nearby. What a great place!
