Agassi - a True Class Act!

Post by Terry » Mon Sep 04, 2006 11:14 am

Even though I find tennis a terribly boring sport to watch, I have to admit that Agassi's bidding farewell to the fans was one of those moments that makes the sport great! The spectators gave him a standing ovation that lasted longer than 8 minutes.

With tears streaming down, he said, "Over the last 21 years, I’ve found loyalty. You have pulled for me on the court and also in life. I have found inspiration. You have willed me to succeed sometimes even in my lowest moments".

Not too long ago, Agassi's failed marriage to Brooke Shields nearly ended his career. But he had an amazing comeback. His wife Stephi Graf had a lot to do getting him back on his feet again. It is not easy to find a comeback story in any sport that matches his.
