The smokeless cigarettes offered by Direct E-Cig promise a nicotine punch without "offensive secondhand smoke," according to its website. The Better Business Bureau says customers who accepted the company's "free trial" have run up unexpected charges of $100 or more because of a return policy some claim they never saw.
On Tuesday, the BBB announced that it gave an "F" rating to the Naples, Fla.-based Direct E-Cig and accused the company of a "pattern of misrepresentation" after receiving 360 complaints, including six from Minnesotans.
Whistleblower tried without success to get a response from Direct E-Cig Tuesday. The company told the BBB that its cancellation policy is spelled out on its website.

Don't get too excited. I complained to the MN Attorney General about the deceptive "auto-billing" practices of a Florida E-Cig company, and they responded saying that there was nothing they could do about it, despite the fact that they advertise here and do business with MN consumers.
