Got a trailer hitch installed there yesterday. Fast, competent service and good price. No frills operation, but these guys know their business.

Why do we need to install a trailer hitch? Back in the day, all cars had this.

When did Detroit and friends decide that this was an item we no longer needed?

This aside, thanks for the recommendation. Nice to know about some options other than U-Haul, which seems to be the place people mention most often when someone asks where can get they a hitch installed...

Didn't the nannies in Washington DC decide this? Aren't the 5 mph bumpers required on both front and rear? Not sure.

In any event, my hitch receiver bolts directly to the frame. Beats the hell out of the on-bumper system I had on my old truck, that made the entire bumper sag from the tongue weight.
